Recognition of Patrice Atkinson, Recreation Supervisor, and her 18 years of service. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Director Fink stated Patrice Atkinson has served the City for the past 18 years in group <br />fitness, aquatics, in the Eagle’s Nest and in many other capacities at the New Brighton Community Center. <br />She explained Patrice was offered a great position with the City of Brooklyn Park and wished her well in her <br />new role. <br />Mayor Johnson read a proclamation in full for the record recognizing Patrice Atkinson for her 18 years of <br />dedicated service to the City of New Brighton. <br /> <br />3. Recognition of Jodelle Olson, naming her as a City Ambassador upon her retirement. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Director Fink stated Parks and Recreation staff has come out in force to support Jodelle <br />Olson and to congratulate her for her 41 years of service to the City of New Brighton. She explained she was <br />sad to see Jodelle go but wished her all the best in the next chapter of her life. <br />Mayor Johnson read a proclamation in full for the record recognizing Jodelle Olson for her 41 years of <br />dedicated service to the City of New Brighton and naming her as a City Ambassador upon her retirement. <br />Councilmember Burg stated she was working with the City at the same time Jodelle was hired. She <br />explained it has been an honor to be Jodelle’s friend over the years and thanked her for her dedicated service <br />to the community. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen commented 41 years of service to the City was an amazing accomplishment. He <br />thanked Jodelle for her service and noted she has left a lasting impact on the community. <br />Councilmember Allen thanked Jodelle for her strong commitment to making this a great community. He <br />stated he was super impressed by all Jodelle had accomplished over the years. He encouraged Jodelle to <br />enjoy her retirement. A round of applause was offered by all in attendance. <br /> <br />4. Honoring the Life of Char Samuelson, former City Councilmember and State Representative. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson stated Char Samuelson had a big impact on Councilmember Jacobsen and for this reason he <br />would be presenting this item. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen commented Char Samuelson was a mentor to him throughout his life. He read a <br />proclamation in full for the record recognized the passing of Char Samuelson and thanked her for her <br />dedicated service to the City of New Brighton and to the greater community as a City Councilmember and <br />State Representative. He sent his condolences to the Samuelson family. <br /> <br />5. Honoring the Life of Earl Bakken, founder of Medtronic. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson stated Councilmember Dunsworth had a connection with the Bakken family <br />and for this reason she would be presenting this item. <br />Councilmember Dunsworth read a proclamation in full for the record recognizing the passing <br />of Earl Bakken, the founder of Medtronic and sent her condolences to the Bakken family. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br />1.
