Consider Resolution to Vacate portions of 19th Avenue NW and 20th Avenue <br />NW located wholly within the boundaries of the Bel Air Elementary School <br />property at 1800 5th Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Dunsworth to adopt a Resolution for <br />a Street Vacation for portions of 19th Avenue NW and 20th Avenue NW located wholly within the <br />boundaries of the Bel Air Elementary School property at 1800 5th Avenue NW. <br /> <br />City Manager Lotter stated in reviewing the latest request from Mounds View Public Schools to improve Bel <br />Air Elementary, it came to the City’s attention that two unnecessary pieces of right-of-way currently extend <br />into the school property (and physical building), and both have been simply ignored over the years. This <br />vacation process would eliminate these long-standing problems, and all City interests would be maintained <br />via easements. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported Five Cities met yesterday and discussed the activities occurring <br />in the region. He explained the City’s new Public Works Superintendent Eric Volk began <br />working with the City on Monday, March 11th. He stated the City hired a new Police Officer <br />John Thomas and commented on how competitive this job market was at this time. He noted <br />the City would be attending several upcoming career fairs. He commented on the Senior <br />Leadership Team meeting that was held at the Community Center this morning. <br /> <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth thanked Councilmember Burg for attending the Cable <br />Commission for her last Thursday night. She noted she attended the Public Safety <br />Commission meeting on Monday, March 11th and explained this group received a presentation <br />on crime free multi-family housing from Community Engagement Officer Brad Krebsbach. <br /> <br />2. 2.
