She reported the Public Safety Commission would meet next on Monday, April 8th. <br />She encouraged residents to change their fire alarm and carbon monoxide detector batteries. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported PREC met last Wednesday and discussed the projects the <br />City would be completing in 2019. In addition, the group discussed park restroom use and <br />maintenance. He commented on the new organizational chart for the Parks and Recreation <br />Department and stated he fully supported the changes. He noted the City was working on a <br />Comprehensive Parks Master Plan at this time. He invited the public to attend an upcoming <br />parks neighborhood meeting which would be held on Thursday, March 21st at 6:00 p.m. at <br />Sunny Square Park. He explained residents could also provide the City with feedback on its <br />parks on the City’s website or on Facebook. He commented on the temporary lights and <br />signage that had been installed in the City for the I-35W reconstruction project. He thanked all <br />of the Commission candidates who interviewed and were interested in serving the community. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported she serves as the City’s liaison to NYFS. She noted this group <br />was seeking a new executive director as Jerry Hromatka would be retiring in 2020. She <br />explained she attended a Cable Commission meeting last week. She thanked CTV for their <br />great work on behalf of the community. She discussed the Points of Light programing that <br />CTV would be pursuing in 2019. She thanked the Public Works staff for keeping the City’s <br />streets free and clear of snow. She explained the Planning Commission would meet next on <br />Tuesday, March 19th at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson thanked staff for all of their efforts to renovate the City Council Chambers. <br />She commented on a brochure she received from the Ramsey County Friends of the Library <br />and encouraged the public to participate in the Paws to Read program. She thanked all of the <br />individuals who applied and were interviewed for open Commission seats. She thanked the <br />Public Works Department for all of their efforts and noted they were concentrating on clearing <br />storm drains at this time. She indicated she would be attending the North Metro Mayors <br />Association day at the Capitol next Wednesday. She provided the Council with a summary on <br />the I-35W Coalition meeting she attended last week and noted trees would be cut down for the <br />sound walls by March 31st. She stated on April 1st lane restrictions will begin on I-35W.
