June 11, 2019 Page 4 of 4 <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter commented on the training he was able to attend last week and thanked <br />the Council for allowing him to attend this life-changing event. He discussed the City’s <br />website noting it would be receiving an update. He anticipated the new website would be <br />launched this fall. He requested the Council provide staff with feedback on any changes that <br />should be made to the website. He commented on the Stockyard Days parade and noted <br />another day (Saturday, August 3rd) was being considered for the event for safety purposes <br />given the high level of traffic in the community. He understood this was a big ask, but noted <br />the Public Safety Commission supported the recommendation. <br /> <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth reported she attended a Cable Commission meeting on Thursday, <br />June 6th. She explained the Planning Commission would be meeting next on Tuesday, June <br />18th at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Public Safety Commission met on Monday, June 10th <br />and discussed the numerous partnerships the Public Safety Division had in place. He stated <br />VIPS would be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, June 12th at the Community <br />Center from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. He indicated walk-ins were welcome or appointments could be <br />made online. He wished a Happy Father’s Day to all fathers in the community. He stated he <br />would be attending the League of Minnesota Cities Conference in Duluth, Minnesota later in <br />June. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported she attended the PREC meeting last Wednesday. She thanked <br />Ben Karp from Ramsey County for making a presentation on the master trail plan. She <br />explained PREC would not be meeting in July due to the 4th of July and noted this group would <br />meet next on Wednesday, August 7th. She indicated she would be attending the League of <br />Minnesota Cities Conference in Duluth as well. She thanked all who were able to attend the <br />Memorial Day service. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson thanked Beisswenger’s for hosting a 100-year celebration in New Brighton. <br />She commented on the filtration work that was completed at Hanson Park and noted the <br />adjustments that had been made was properly managing the water flowing through in Hanson <br />Park.
