<br />Page 5 - December 13, 2005 New Brighton Council Minutes <br /> <br />Council Member Hoffman stated her commitment to be a responsible steward for the <br />lent residents as well as future citizens of New Brighton. <br /> <br />Greacen questioned Council Members Burg motion, primarily the amount she <br />quested be reduced, the comment was made that Council Member Burg's motion was <br />changed form $58,000.00 to $220,000.00. Mr. Greacen asked for her intent. <br /> <br />The City Manager stated that if the intent was to reduce the budget by $220,000.00; <br />Council would need to specify where this is to be deducted, since the amount in the budget <br />for Park-related non-fleet items is only $58,000. <br /> <br />The Council continued to discuss the non-fleet strategic financing plan until everyone <br />understood. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Burg, seconded by Council Member Doffing to waive the <br />reading and consider adopting the 2006 City Wide Tax Levy, the 2006 Storm Sewer <br />Improvement Taxing Districts tax levy, the 2006 Budgets, the 2006 Fee Register, and the <br />2006 Compensation Plan; less from the non-fleet replacement, $58,400.00. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 1 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br />eyes: <br />ayor Larson <br />ounci! Report No. <br />05-272. <br /> <br />Mayor Larson gave some background information. He indicated that the City <br />Manager did not receive any cost of living last year. He also reminded the Council <br />about the extensive penormance review that was conducted regarding the City <br />Manager at a significant expense in 2005 and found that the City Manager's <br />penormance was acceptable. <br />R: comparison of salaries for City Managers of neighboring cities, similar in size was <br />.-resented. <br /> <br />It was reported that a step increase as well as penormance pay were both forgone <br />at the request of the City Manager for 2006. <br /> <br />Motion by Cormcil Member Hoffman, seconded by Mayor Larson to approve <br />recommendation to approve a 3% cost of living adjustment for the City Manager <br /> <br />3.
