Report No. 05-273. <br />Resolution No. 05-109. <br /> <br />Director of Finance Dan Maiers gave some details about the 2006 Utility Rate Study <br />recently completed. The significant assumptions include: <br />. an increase in service levels to reduce radium in the water, estimated <br />to cost roughly $120,000 in 2006 and 2007 <br />. $295,000 will continue to be encumbered for future reinvestment into <br />the water distribution system infrastructure <br />. Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) program to <br />deal with inflow and infiltration of stormwater into the sanitary sewer <br />system (sump pump program), sewer treatment charges are <br />expected to increase, an estimated $50,000 per year for the next five <br />years will be spent addressing the problems <br />. capital costs in the Stormwater Fund will continue to be over <br />$100,000 each year for the annual street reconstruction projects and <br />pond dredgings <br />. federally mandated stormwater programs (National Pollution <br />Discharge Elimination System or NPDES) continue to drive up the <br />costs in the Stormwater Fund <br />. the annual street reconstruction program will require contributions of <br />$40,000 from the Water Fund and $50,000 from the Sewer Fund <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Burg, seconded by Council Member Hoffman to waive the <br />reading and consider adopting the 2006 Water, Sewer, Storm water and Street Lights rates. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 1 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br />les: <br />ayor Larson <br />ouncil Member Hoffman <br />......ouncil Member Moore-Sykes <br />Council Member Burg <br /> <br />Nays: <br />Council Member Doffing <br /> <br />4.
