Staff provided further comment on the <br />request and noted the Planning Commission recommended approval of the Final Planned <br />Residential Development for the Pulte Townhomes. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen stated he was happy to have Pulte Homes as a partner in the City. <br />Councilmember Burg commented the development project was something she has been hoping <br />for since the City purchased the elementary school. She explained this project would bring <br />high quality, life cycle housing for a growing community. <br />Mayor Johnson commended Pulte Homes for listening to the community and amending their <br />plans based on the feedback received from the neighbors. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported staff was working on the 2020 budget and explained it was <br />staff’s intent to meet with the Council on Wednesday, July 31st to discuss the budget in further <br />detail. He stated solar panels are being installed on the water treatment plant. He indicated a <br />meeting would be held on Thursday with MnDOT regarding the 35W sound wall. <br /> <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen reported the EDC would meet next on Wednesday, August 7th at 7:30 <br />a.m. He stated he was looking forward to Stockyard Days. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Public Safety Committee did not meet in July. He <br />explained this group would meet next on Monday, August 12th at 6:30 p.m. He encouraged <br />residents of New Brighton to participate in National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6th and <br />suggested neighbors register their parties with the Public Safety Department. He reminded <br />residents that the Stockyard Days parade would be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 3:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Mounds View Community Theater was putting on The Man <br />from La Mancha at Chippewa Middle School. She stated New Brighton was hosting a safety <br />camp for kids on Friday, August 16th and registration was available online. She explained the <br />Park and Recreation Department continued to work on their strategic plan and the public could <br />make comments during Stockyard Days. She reported PREC would meet next on Wednesday, <br />August 7th at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported she attended the Planning Commission meeting on July 16th for <br />Councilmember Dunsworth. She indicated she was looking forward to National Night Out <br />which would be held on Tuesday, August 6th. She encouraged residents to get their <br />neighborhood parties registered with the Public Safety Department. She stated the Beautiful <br />mural was being worked on at the Community Center. She thanked the community for coming <br />together to assist in creating this piece of artwork. She indicated she was excited about the <br />solar panels being installed at the water treatment plant and at the public works facility. She <br />encouraged residents to participate in all of the wonderful activities being planned for <br />Stockyard Days.
