RESOLUTION NO. ________ <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />APPOINTING THE ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS AS THE OFFICIAL DESIGNATED <br />NEWSPAPER FOR THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2019 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council is required by MN State Statutes § 412.831 to annually <br />designate a newspaper to serve as its official newspaper for published notices, summary <br />publication of ordinances and other publication needs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the newspaper appointed to serve as the City’s legal newspaper for 2019 is <br />no longer in business; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cited rates by the St. Paul Pioneer Press of $6.00 per column inch for a <br />one-time publication and $5.50 per column inch for each additional publications is comparable <br />to what the City was paying its previous legal newspaper and is less than quotes received from <br />other publications; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the St. Paul Pioneer Press meets all criteria set forth by MN State Statutes § <br />331A, <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of New Brighton, <br />Minnesota that the New Brighton City Council designates the St. Paul Pioneer Press as the <br />Official Newspaper for the City of New Brighton for the remainder of 2019. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 8th day of October, 2019 by the New Brighton City Council with a vote of _____ <br />ayes and _____ nays. <br /> <br /> <br /> Valerie Johnson, Mayor <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Dean R.
