He stated a ribbon cutting ceremony <br />was being planned for Tuesday, October 1st at the water treatment plant. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg discussed the Hansen Park rededication ceremony that was held prior to <br />this meeting. She thanked staff and Mrs. Richard Hansen for their efforts to make this project <br />happen. She described the work that was completed to save Hansen Park and address the large <br />rain events that were occurring in the community. She reported the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission would meet next on Wednesday, October 2nd at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Planning Commission met on Tuesday, September 17th. <br />He stated the Planning Commission would meet next on Tuesday, October 15th. He commented <br />further on the history of Hansen Park in the City of New Brighton. He stated he was pleased <br />the park was not flooding anymore as he used the trails within the park frequently. He <br />explained the New Brighton Public Safety Department was taking part in the Click It Or Ticket <br />Campaign and encouraged all residents to buckle up for safety. <br /> <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth reported the Public Safety Commission would meet next on <br />Monday, October 14th at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen stated he enjoyed attending the Hansen Park rededication and <br />appreciates the long-term vision that was in place for this park. He reported the Economic <br />Development Commission would meet next on Wednesday, October 2nd at 7:30 a.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported she had the privilege of being a guest speaker for the League of <br />Women Voters last Tuesday. She commented on the National Night Out report and stated she <br />was really proud of the City and its residents for being engaged in this community. She <br />encouraged residents to rake leaves out of the street gutter this fall in order to keep these leaves <br />out of the City’s water ways. She invited residents to adopt a drain as well.
