<br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR A 2020 SCORE GRANT THROUGH <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton is a municipal corporation, organized and existing under the <br />laws of the State of Minnesota; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is the official governing body of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton operates a municipal recycling program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, state law requires Counties to manage waste produced by citizens and businesses by <br />encouraging waste reduction, reuse, and recycling in preference to land-filling; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State Legislature has enacted legislation—referred to as the SCORE program, <br />which authorizes grants to counties for waste reduction, reuse, and recycling activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has provided SCORE program money to Ramsey County for <br />recycling activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County provides annual grants to cities located within its boundaries; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton has been encouraged to apply for 2020 SCORE <br />grant funding through Ramsey County. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of New Brighton <br />hereby authorizes staff to apply for 2020 SCORE grant funding through Ramsey County. <br />ADOPTED this 22nd day of October, 2019 by the New Brighton City Council with a vote of __ ayes <br />and __ nays. <br /> <br /> ______________________________ <br /> Valerie Johnson, Mayor <br /> <br /> <br /> ______________________________ <br /> Dean R.
