He thanked Director <br />Fink for the great working relationship she had created with Rise and appreciated the great <br />community building that has been created at the community center with this organization. He <br />reported there would be a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, November 13th at the New <br />Brighton Community Center from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth reported the Planning Commission would be meeting next on <br />Tuesday, November 19th. She thanked Mr. Churnowski for coming forward and discussing the <br />importance of curbside organics with the Council. Lastly, she thanked Councilmember <br />Jacobsen and all veterans for their service. <br /> <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen reported the EDC met on Wednesday, November 6th and the group <br />discussed a grant opportunity for MICOM and was discussing a plan to engage with local <br />business owners. In addition, the group discussed updating the City’s zoning code. He <br />explained the EDC would meet next on Wednesday, December 4th. He thanked <br />Councilmember Jacobsen and all veterans for their service. He stated he supported the City <br />further consideration curbside organics collection at a future meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported she attended a Cable Commission meeting. She explained CTV <br />recently held an Open House and stated this organization was doing a great job to meet the <br />needs of the community. She explained she was excited to report the ice castles were coming <br />to Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton. She indicated the City was in the final stretch <br />of replacing all of its water meters.
