Assistant Director of <br />Community Assets and Development Gozola reported the deadline for approval was March 12th. <br />Councilmember Burg stated the Planning Commission had done their job with this request and had made a <br />proper recommendation to the City Council. She indicated she was uncomfortable with the fact the staff’s <br />recommendation was not supported by the applicant. Assistant Director of Community Assets and <br />Development Gozola reported staff’s recommendation was made to protect access options in the future. <br />However, he noted the Council had the right to state 30 feet was sufficient in this case. <br />Mayor Johnson supported this request being tabled with the item being sent back to the Planning <br />Commission for further consideration. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen supported this recommendation. <br />Mayor Johnson asked if there was another creative way to plat this property in order to avoid the easement <br />concern. Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola explained if the property were <br />platted as one parcel the easement concern could be avoided. However, because Lot 1 is being maintained <br />separate from Lot 2, easements had to be put in place to protect future interests. <br />Councilmember Allen supported the item being tabled for further consideration. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to table action on the <br />Preliminary and Final Plat for the Murlowski Industrial Park sending this item back to the Planning <br />Commission for further discussion with the matter being considered by the City Council on <br />Tuesday, March 10, 2020. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br />1. Consider a Resolution Approving Comprehensive Plan Mapping and Text <br />Corrections Relating to the City’s Future Land Use Map. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Allen to adopt a Resolution <br />approving the Comprehensive Plan Mapping and Text Corrections related to the City’s Future Land <br />Use Map. <br /> <br />Acting City Manager Massopust indicated Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development <br />Gozola would be presenting this item to the Council. <br />Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola stated this resolution will implement a <br />number of comprehensive plan mapping changes necessary to correct long-standing classification problems <br />dating back a decade or more. This mapping issues were only discovered upon conducting an in-depth <br />review of zoning related to comp plan guidance. Staff reviewed the proposed Comp Plan Guidance updates <br />in further detail with the Council and recommended approval. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked staff for going through the Comp Plan Map and making these <br />recommendations. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> <br />2.
