Annual Report from Economic Development Commission Chair Paul Zisla. <br /> <br />Economic Development Chair Paul Zisla provided the Council with the annual report from 2019. He <br />discussed the background and purpose of the EDC. He reviewed the issues the EDC addressed last year and <br />noted Open to Business was now being sponsored by Ramsey County. He reported Midtown Village, the <br />New Brighton Exchange, the Benedictine Health Center and TIF were other items of discussion. He <br />described a planning grant the City received from Ramsey County and discussed how this grant will assist <br />with future planning activities for the Silver Lake Corridor. He thanked Assistant Director of Community <br />Assets and Development Gozola for serving the EDC well. He commented on the activities the EDC would <br />be addressing in 2020, which included reaching out to local businesses. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked Chair Zisla for his dedicated service to the EDC. He appreciated the fact <br />that the EDC had a solid work plan. <br />Councilmember Burg thanked Chair Zisla for his thorough report and for his years of dedicated service to the <br />City of New Brighton. She reported the City is seeking new Commissioners to serve New Brighton for 2020. <br />Councilmember Allen thanked Chair Zisla for his strong leadership on the EDC. He stated he appreciated the <br />great discussion that took place on the EDC. <br />Mayor Johnson thanked the EDC and Chair Zisla for working diligently on behalf of the community. <br /> <br />2. Annual Report from Planning Commission Chair Erin Nichols-Matkaiti. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson requested this item be placed on the next City Council agenda. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br />1.
