February 11, 2020 Page 3 of 6 <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to approve the Consent <br />Agenda as presented. <br /> <br />Councilmember Burg thanked Johnson Screens for their generous donation to the Police Department for Law <br />Enforcement Appreciation Day. She also thanked the many members of the community that made donations <br />to the Santa Cop program. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen stated he was looking forward to reviewing the future plans for Old Highway 8 <br />and 8th Avenue. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br />1. Consider a Resolution Approving Easement Vacations within Midtown Village <br />Phase II. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Burg to adopt a Resolution <br />Vacating Old Easements which have been rendered unnecessary by the new Midtown Village Phase <br />II Plat. <br /> <br />Acting City Manager Massopust indicated Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development <br />Gozola would be presenting this item to the Council. <br />Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola stated approval of Midtown Village <br />Phase II authorized construction of the workforce multi-family building to the south of Old <br />Highway 8 and platting of an Outlot that will eventually be home to the affordable senior <br />building. As part of the new plat, easements for all public needs were established rendering the <br />need for a number of old easements moot. Staff reported this resolution will vacate the <br />unnecessary easements clearing the way for the proposed development. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Allen, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to open the <br />Public Hearing. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was opened at 6:28 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson asked for comments, there were none. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Burg to close the <br />Public Hearing. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 6:59 p.m. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> <br />2.
