Councilmembers Jacobsen, Dunsworth and Burg supported candidate 5 becoming a finalist. Mayor Johnson
supported this recommendation.

Councilmember Dunsworth stated she was a little concerned about how to move forward with the rest of the
candidates given the fact they did not receive a large number of votes. She believed the Council had two
standout candidates at this time and questioned how to narrow down the field after these two candidates.

Mayor Johnson questioned if the Council take a step backwards and eliminate candidates that should not move
forward.

Councilmember Dunsworth requested candidates 1, 9 and 12 be eliminated from consideration. The Council
supported this recommendation.

Ms. Donabauer requested the Council vote for two of the remaining candidates (4, 6, 7 and 10) to move on as
finalists. The Council voted and candidates 4 and 7 would be moving forward as finalists.

Mayor Johnson stated she was really pleased with the number of candidates the City received for this posit ion
and was thrilled by the final four candidates. Ms. Donabauer thanked the Council for narrowing down the list
of final candidates. She provided the Council with further information on the next steps that would be
followed in the hiring process. She discussed the tours, panel interviews and meet and greet event that would
be held on March 18th and March 19th.

Ms. Donabauer asked if the Council supported reimbursing the candidates for travel on the interview days and
tours. She noted the City had two candidates that would be traveling more than 100 miles. The Council
supported reimbursing the candidates mileage with the City making overnight arrangements at a New Brighton
hotel. In addition, the Council supported covering the expense for mileage and hotel for visits with Dr. Coffee.

Councilmember Allen thanked Ms. Donabauer for the extensive amount of work she had completed on behalf
of the City Council.

Mayor Johnson requested Ms. Donabauer thank all of the candidates for applying for the City Manager
position.

Appointment of Liaisons to Public Agencies

Davitt requested the Council make appointment to the City’s public agencies.

Councilmember Jacobsen reported the I-35W Coalition was no longer in existence.

Councilmember Dunsworth recommended Mayor Johnson serve as the representative for the North Metro
Mayors group.

Councilmember Allen reported the Ramsey County League of Local Government changed their meeting time.
He stated this group now meets at 7:30 a.m. He indicated it would be difficult for him to continu e as the
liaison for this group.

Councilmember Burg reported she could serve as the liaison for the Ramsey County League of Local
Government and Councilmember Allen would serve as the Alternate.
