March 10, 2020 Page 5 of 6 <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported PREC did not meet in March. She noted this group would be <br />meeting next on Wednesday, April 1st. She explained she would be attending the Ramsey <br />County League of Local Government meeting on Friday, March 13th at 7:30 a.m. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Public Safety Commission met on Monday, March 9th <br />and received a presentation from Director Paetznick and Dave Matteson on Emergency <br />Preparedness. He encouraged the public to view this meeting to gain a better understanding on <br />how the City was prepared for COVID-19. He thanked Commissioners Cook and Malone for <br />their dedicated service to the community on the Public Safety Commission. He indicated the <br />Public Safety Commission would meet next on Monday, April 13th. He noted he would be <br />serving as the liaison to the Planning Commission beginning in April. He reported VIPS <br />would be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, March 18th from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 <br />p.m. at the Community Center. He encouraged residents to be careful driving through <br />neighborhoods because there were more people and children out walking on the streets given <br />the nice weather. He wished everyone a Happy St. Patrick’s Day. <br /> <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth reported she attended the Mobile City Hall Expo at Hansen Park. <br />She stated this was a great event and she was pleased by the number of residents that attended. <br />She explained the next Mobile City Hall Expo would be held at Freedom Park and she <br />encouraged residents to consider attending this informative event. She stated she would be <br />attending a Cable Commission meeting on Thursday, March 19th at 7:00 p.m. She noted she <br />would be serving as the PREC liaison beginning in April. <br /> <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen reported the EDC met on Wednesday, March 3rd where the group <br />discussed the Benedictine Health Center expansion. He commented the group also addressed <br />business outreach efforts, event tourism, and made a recommendation on the EDC Chair/Vice <br />Chair positions. He stated the EDC would be meeting next on Wednesday, April 1st. He <br />explained he would be serving as the Public Safety liaison for the remainder of 2020. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported the Council held interviews for Commission positions this evening. <br />She noted additional interviews would be held on Tuesday, March 24th and appointments <br />would be made after that meeting. She encouraged all residents that have not had their water <br />meter replaced to contact the Public Works Department to have this done ASAP. She <br />indicated the hiring process for the City Manager position was moving along and the Council <br />had narrowed the field to four finalists with one being Acting City Manager Massopust. She <br />commented further on the Meet and Greet event that would be held on Wednesday, March 18th <br />with the four final candidates. She explained the Parks Master Plan was moving along and she <br />encouraged the public to find an opportunity to provide the City with feedback. She discussed <br />the upcoming Mobile City Hall Expo which would be held at Freedom Park on Thursday, <br />April 9th and invited the community to attend. She stated the New Brighton Business Council <br />would be meeting next on Thursday, March 19th at 7:30 a.m. at Delco. This meeting was open <br />to all local business leaders.
