June 23, 2020 Page 6 of 6 <br />Clerk Spangrud commented she was 36% staffed for August and 19% staffed for November. <br />She discussed how the combined polling locations would reduce the number of election judges <br />she would need but noted she liked to have the polling locations properly staffed for ease of <br />voting purposes. <br />Councilmember Allen anticipated that a lot of people would be voting by mail this fall, which <br />may assist the polling locations and number of election judges that were actually needed. City <br />Clerk Spangrud stated Ramsey County has received applications from 28,000 voters that wish <br />to cast an absentee ballot in August. <br />A roll call vote was taken. 5 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Devin Massopust <br />City Manager Massopust reported the Parks Comprehensive Plan has been posted to the City’s <br />website and residents were able to review this document and provide feedback. He <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Planning Commission met on Tuesday, June 16th. He <br />congratulated Chair Nichols-Matkaiti for being reappointed as the Planning Commission <br />Chair. He reported CPY would be holding their Golf Ball Drop in August. He encouraged <br />community members to consider participating this important fundraiser. <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported the New Brighton Farmer’s Market was open on Wednesdays at the <br />Community Center from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. She explained staff has done well to assist <br />with proper social distancing at this event.
