<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Council Worksession <br />July 14, 2020 <br />5:00 pm <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Valerie Johnson <br /> Councilmember Graeme Allen <br /> Councilmember Emily Dunsworth <br /> Councilmember Nasreen Fynewever <br /> Councilmember Paul Jacobsen <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Staff in Attendance: Devin Massopust <br /> <br />Guests in Attendance: Dana Healy <br /> <br />Annual Report from Dana Healy, Executive Director, CTV North Suburbs <br /> <br />Massopust reported Dana Healy with CTV North Suburbs had a presentation for the City Council. <br /> <br />Dana Healy, CTV, thanked the Council for their time. She provided the Council with a recap on the activities <br />from 2019 and how CTV was planning to move forward in 2020. She discussed the services provided by CTV <br />which included municipal meeting coverage, webcasting, social media coordination, along with community <br />engagement videos. She explained in 2019 CTV worked to improve followership within the Facebook, <br />Instagram, and LinkedIn platforms. She commented on how followership has increased even more in 2020. <br />She reported CTV’s e-newsletter saw growth of 61% in 2019. She believed this was a great indicator of how <br />CTV was improving its reach in the community. <br /> <br />Ms. Healy described how she was working to measure the effectiveness of videos while also working to bring <br />content to where the audience is. She commented on sample content that was completed for the City of New <br />Brighton in 2019. The social media viewership numbers from this content was reviewed with the Council in <br />further detail. She discussed the steps that were followed for community engagement videos which included <br />design objectives, identify audience, develop content, construct timeline and then to analyze the data. She <br />provided further comment on the content CTV created for New Brighton in 2019 and how this content was <br />viewed by the public. <br /> <br />Ms. Healy discussed how COVID has impacted community engagement activities and she thanked New <br />Brighton for all of their proactive communications with the community. She noted quarterly update videos <br />were still being provided to the City. She explained these videos may be a good way for the Council to receive <br />public feedback on equity or transit equity. She thanked the Council for their time and asked for comments or <br />questions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobsen discussed the challenges CTV has had with Comcast and asked if CTV has resolved <br />these issues. Ms. Healy reported CTV has received a 40% reduction in PEG fees. She explained in 2019 her <br />organization finished the year in the black and earned income was on the rise. She stated the challenges she <br />was facing were not going away though because cable subscriptions were continue to decrease. She indicated <br />things were trending in the right direction and CTV’s services would continue to expand in order to continue to
