Ms. Healy stated <br />she needed to do a better job to partner with the schools. She noted CTV had recently partnered with two high <br />schools to complete virtual graduations and explained additional programming was being considered for 2020. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked CTV for unifying the community through their programming. <br /> <br />Councilmember Fynewever inquired how CTV could work to engage a wider demographic in the community. <br />Ms. Healy stated this would depend on the platform or the type of audience that was trying to be reached. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson questioned if the 1,731 CTV site visits included those New Brighton residents who viewed <br />City Council meetings. Ms. Healy estimated about 1,700 viewed City meetings in 2019 and noted this number <br />would be higher in 2020. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson asked if this number included City Commission meetings. Ms. Healy stated this included all <br />City meetings. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson commented she wanted to see viewership for City meetings increased. Ms. Healy commented <br />some cities were taking a clip or a still frame of the meeting and pushing it o ut on social media with a quote. <br />She indicated this would provide viewers a tease and would push viewers into possibly viewing the meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dunsworth thanked Ms. Healy for her presentation. She noted she served on the Cable <br />Commission. She explained she was incredibly impressed with how Ms. Healy has transformed, reinvented <br />and diversified this organization. She anticipated New Brighton underutilized CTV and should consider how <br />to make better use of CTV in the community. She thanked CTV for providing Spanish translations for the <br />governor’s messages to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Healy thanked Councilmember <br />Dunsworth for her kind words and noted the translations would soon be available in Hmong and Somali. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson asked how people sign up for the e-newsletter from CTV. Ms. Healy reported residents could <br />sign up for this on CTV’s website. She indicated the e-newsletters were sent out every Friday. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson inquired if CTV had found a new space. Ms. Healy indicated she has been working with her <br />current landlord to downsize the current space. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson thanked Ms. Healy for her service to the community and for her thorough presentation to the <br />City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson stated she has received requests from the public to have the City of New Brighton mandate <br />masks. She questioned how the Council felt about this mandate. <br /> <br />Councilmember Allen commented he wished everyone would wear a mask at this time and explained the <br />Council may have to revisit this issue if the numbers begin to rise in the region. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson agreed explaining there have been some special event requests made to the Public Safety <br />Department and noted masks may be required. She indicated at this time masks would be encouraged by the <br />City of New Brighton but would not be mandated. <br /> <br />
