Mayor Johnson described how the City handled deferred purchases within the CIP. She noted these dollars <br />were not used for another item, but rather are set aside until a future date. <br />Councilmember Allen discussed how projections are made for the City 10 years out and how this was based on <br />real world conditions. <br />Mayor Johnson explained how the CIP helps the City plan for peaks and valleys while also assisting the City <br />Council in wisely putting dollars away for large capital expenditures. She thanked staff for putting together a <br />great financial plan for the City. <br />Councilmember Allen encouraged residents to keep in mind the Council has yet to approve the Parks <br />Comprehensive Plan. He explained the CIP would have to be amended at some point in order to incorporate <br />this plan.
