<br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COMMISISON CONSIDERATION <br /> <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Updates on Current Redevelopment Projects <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report ___ Comments attached ___ <br /> <br />Recommendations: No action needed <br /> <br />Universal Update: In January, the Planning Commission and City Council reviewed separate <br />ordinances to conditionally rezone the New Brighton Elementary site and the <br />Benedictine site to R-3B to open the door for Planned Residential <br />Development applications. Both applications were unanimously <br />recommended for approval by the Planning Commission, and both were <br />unanimously approved by the City Council. The approvals will take effect <br />ONLY upon the following: <br />1. The Met Council must authorize the City to put the 2040 Comprehensive <br />Plan into effect; AND <br />2. The City Council must put the 2040 Comprehensive Plan into effect; AND <br />3. A preliminary Planned Residential Development (PRD) on these lands that <br />meets all goals and objectives of the 2040 comprehensive plan must be <br />approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />Benedictine <br />Updates: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The Preliminary Planned Residential Development application for the <br />Benedictine expansion was received last month, and is anticipated to be <br />reviewed by the Planning Commission on February 19th, and possibly be in <br />front of the City Council on February 26th. <br /> The applicant is actively meeting with neighboring property owners in an <br />effort to address concerns heading into the review.
