There is no hard and fast deadline currently, and no final <br />determinations must be made at the August 7th meeting. <br /> Attached Commissioners will find two articles on emerging trends in <br />Economic Development, along with a 2016 report on Smart Growth <br />Economic Development. All three items are provided simply to foster <br />ideas on things you may wish to consider or pursue moving forward. <br /> From staff’s perspective, community outreach must become part of our <br />on-going efforts to retain existing businesses and promote in-place growth. <br />To that end, we are beginning to assemble a listing of the City’s largest and <br />most growth-oriented businesses to contact over the coming year. How <br />the City will maintain on-going contact with our businesses given our <br />internal organization and lean staffing will eventually need to be <br />addressed. <br /> <br />Attachments: A.
