Ordinance No. 880 <br />Short Term Rentals <br />214121 <br />83 <br />(4) <br />In -Unit Posting. The following information shall be posted in a conspicuous place within the short <br />84 <br />85 <br />term rental: <br />a. Name and contact information for the resident agent in charge of monitoring the property while <br />86 <br />87 <br />88 <br />89 <br />(5) <br />renters are present. <br />b. Street Address of the subject property. <br />c. Floor plan indicating fire exits and escape routes. <br />Compliance with Local Ordinances. No owner shall undertake or allow the short-term rental of a <br />90 <br />dwelling unit in a manner that does not comply with all applicable City Ordinances, the laws of the <br />91 <br />92 <br />93 <br />State of Minnesota, and this Article. <br />Sec. 13-270. Effect of Short Term Rental Permit Approval. <br />(1) Effective Dates. Issuance of a short term rental permit shall authorize use of the property as a short <br />94 <br />95 <br />term rental per the following "idelines: <br />a. All short term rental permits issued between January 1St and October 31St of any given calendar <br />96 <br />shall expire at midnight on December 31 St of that same calendar <br />97 <br />,year ,year. <br />b. Short term rental permits issued between November 1 St and December 31 St of any given calendar <br />98 <br />year shall authorize use of the property as a short term rental through December 31St of the <br />99 <br />100 <br />(2) <br />following calendar year. <br />Non -transferable. Sale of a property or transfer of ownership rights to a non -permit holder shall <br />101 <br />invalidate an issued short term rental permit. The new owner must apply for and receive a new short <br />102 <br />term rental permit to re-establish short term rental rights. Prospective owners wishing to establish short <br />103 <br />term rental rights on a propertyprior to acquisition may apply for a permit jointly with the present <br />104 <br />property owner. <br />105 (3) Renewal. To ensure existing permit holders can avoid a lapse in efi ig bility_permit holders are <br />106 encouraged for renewal of their permit after November 1St for the following calendar ,year. <br />107 Sec. 13-280. Permit Susuension or Revocation. <br />108 Any short-term rental found to be out of compliance with the requirements of Section 13-260 shall be subject <br />109 to permit suspension or revocation <br />110 (1) First Offense. Upon determining a short-term rental property is out of compliance with anyprovision <br />111 of Section 13-260, the property owner shall be ordered to correct the violation and take any/all <br />112 appropriate actions necessary to prevent further violations. <br />113 (2) Second Offense. Upon determining that a second offense has occurred within 365 days of an initial <br />114 offense, the permit shall be immediately suspended and directed to the City Council for reinstatement, <br />115 amendment, or revocation. <br />Page 4 of 6 <br />
