Councilmember Abdulle reported he would not be able to attend Wednesday morning meetings either. He <br />explained he was interested in serving as the Council liaison to the Planning Commission or the Inclusive <br />Community Commission. <br />Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas explained the Inclusive/Equity staff person would be hired this summer. For this <br />reason, the Inclusive Community Commission would not be appointed until a staff member was in place to <br />support the group. <br />Councilmember Dunsworth asked if the EDC meeting date and time could be changed. Massopust stated this <br />could be discussed with staff and the EDC members. <br />Councilmember Axberg commented she could attend the EDC meetings but would have to leave at 8:30 a.m. <br />She explained this would open up the Planning Commission for Councilmember Abdulle. <br />Councilmember Abdulle thanked Councilmember Axberg and stated he would enjoy serving as the Planning <br />Commission liaison. <br />Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas reviewed the various public agency appointments. She noted Director Fink was <br />interested in continuing to serve as the Twin Cities Gateway liaison. She commented she would be serving as <br />the liaison to the North Metro Mayors Association. She asked how the Council would like to fill the other <br />positions. <br />Councilmember Axberg asked how the City decided whether a staff member or a Councilmember attended the <br />various public agency meetings. Massopust explained organizations that took votes typically required an <br />elected official and the informational meetings could be attended by staff. He reported the Cable Commission, <br />CPY and North Metro Mayors required the largest time commitment. <br />Councilmember Dunsworth indicated she was willing to continue to serve as the liaison to the Cable <br />Commission for continuity purposes. <br />Councilmember Axberg stated she supported the continuity continuing for the Cable Commission and CPY. <br />Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas requested further information on the relationship the City has with CPY and NYFS. <br />Massopust discussed in further detail the partnership the City has with CPY and NYFS. He reported Mary <br />Burg would be serving as the NYFS liaison through the end of 2021. <br />Councilmember Allen discussed his experience serving as the City's CPY liaison and described the financial <br />support the City has provided to CPY over the years. <br />Councilmember Abdulle stated he was interested in serving with the Ramsey County League of Local <br />Government, the League of Minnesota Cities and NYFS. <br />Councilmember Allen encouraged Councilmember Abdulle to serve with the Ramsey County League of Local <br />Government. <br />Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas indicated she was willing to serve as the alternate for the League of Minnesota Cities <br />and could serve as the liaison for Metro Cities. <br />
