It should be noted that this is <br />only one method of comparison and each community’s desires, needs and location should be <br />considered when assessing park system amenities. <br />The table below shows a high-level comparison based upon NRPA standards and <br />recommendations to similar communities. <br />For purposes of this comparison, New Brighton included a population of 22,787, includes 17 <br />parks (Jones Lake and Midtown Village Tot Lot were not included as they are currently under <br />planning or development), 213.5 acres of park land managed, a 7 square mile city boundary <br />and 3,255 residents per square mile. This data was used for both national and regional <br />comparisons.
