The School District shall work with the City and County Park District regarding shared use <br />arrangements for the new NE lot, and resolution of any ROW issues along 25th Street NW. <br />11. Failure to adhere to these conditions of approval shall be grounds for revocation of the special use <br />permit amendment by the City Council. <br />Commissioner Frischman asked how many parking spaces was required for the high school. Assistant <br />Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola reported the Irondale High School was <br />required to have 517 spaces based on the square footage of the building. <br />Commissioner Biedenfeld questioned how many shared parking spaces the school had with <br />neighboring properties. Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola deferred <br />this question to the applicant. <br />Commissioner McQuillan inquired if the new islands in the parking lot would impact the number of <br />parking spaces. Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola explained only one <br />new island would be added. <br />Commissioner Fynewever requested further information regarding the sidewalks and no parking signs. <br />Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola explained the applicant would be <br />reviewing the designs of the adjacent intersections to improve pedestrian safety at intersection <br />crossings. <br />Chairperson Nichols-Matkaiti opened the Public Hearing at 7:29 p.m. <br />Paul Apilkowski, architect for the Mounds View School District, explained Edgewood Middle School had <br />100 parking spaces available for overflow parking. He reported he would comply with the City’s island <br />requirements. He indicated the quantity of shrubs could be adjusted to meet the City’s requirements <br />and noted he would review the adjacent intersections with City staff. <br />John Ward, Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the Mounds View School District, described the <br />shuttle bus service that was provided during large events at Irondale High School. He explained there <br />were only a handful of large events that took place at Irondale each year. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner McQuillan, seconded by Commissioner Frischman to close the Public <br />Hearing. <br />Approved 7-0. <br />Commissioner Fynewever stated she supported staff’s recommendation with the noted conditions for <br />approval. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Fynewever, seconded by Commissioner Murphy, to approve staff <br />recommendation. <br />Approved 7-0. <br /> <br />
