Preliminary Planned Residential Development
Planning Commission Report; 5-21-19

Page 24
(cont.)

JOB ≈ JOBS in MN AVERAGE SALARY
 Office Assistant ......................... 405,970 ............................ $42,520
 General Sales ............................. 277,070 ............................ $43,830
 Education/Library ...................... 166,300 ............................ $56,410
 Personal Care/Service ................ 144,070 ............................ $28,530
 Carpenters ................................... 17,110 ............................. $52,610
 Maids/Housekeeping .................. 16,910 ............................. $27,990
 Auto Mechanics .......................... 11,950 ............................. $42,520
 Pharmacy Techs ........................... 8,370 .............................. $37,670
 Firefighters................................... 6,840 .............................. $37,690
 Paralegals ..................................... 4,890 .............................. $56,880
 There will be no change to area cell services as a result of this development. If
signals are weak in the area today, they will continue to be weak in the future. If
signals are strong today, they will continue to be strong post-development. It is up to
the individual cellular companies to manage their networks and make upgrades as
needed to serve their customers.
 Per the company managing use of the train tracks to the east of the development site,
there’s on average one train per day (limited to 10 mph) using these tracks. Train
traffic will not be an issue for the proposed development.
 And finally, with regards to the commonly voiced concern that neither developer has
a good rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), we would note the following:
1. The absolute best measure of an applicant’s reliability is previous experience.
Both of these developers have completed excellent and successful projects in the
City before, and neither project generated negative complaints from either the
City or their neighbors.
2. High-quality development requires significant capital and these companies have
it. Over-leveraged, first time developers are far more likely to run into problems.
3. Specific to Dominium, while they provide housing on a national level, they are
headquartered here in Plymouth MN: they are a local company.
