<br /> <br />8 <br /> <br /> <br />Chair Nichols-Matkaiti reported the City has assisted residents and Barley Johns with solar projects. <br />She stated while the code was currently silent with respect to solar panels, this did not mean the City <br />was opposed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Frischman explained she was looking forward to having these changes a part of New <br />Brighton’s City Code. <br /> <br />Commissioner Biedenfeld commented his only concern with the proposed code was with ground <br />mounted solar panels. He believed the City would have to watch the location of these panels closely. <br /> <br />Commissioner Melquist asked if these panels were typically residential or commercial. Assistant <br />Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola commented he has not received a request <br />since his time with the City. However, based on Chair Nichols-Matkaiti’s comment the City has worked <br />with applicants willing to make an investment in solar energy. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Frischman, seconded by Commissioner Biedenfeld to acknowledge receipt <br />of the recommendations from the Great Plains Institute as it relates to SolSmart Certification. <br />A roll call vote was taken. Approved 6-0. <br />VIII. Adjournment <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Frischman, seconded by Commissioner McQuillan to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was taken.
