interoffice
MEMORANDUM

to: Ben Gozola, Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development/City Planner
from: Dustin Lind, Engineering Supervisor
subject: 761 1st Street SW
date: May 26, 2020

The Engineering Department has reviewed the site plan for the property at 761 1st Street SW and we offer
the following comments:

Streets – Parking Lot

1) Provide additional information about anticipated daily traffic volumes to and from the site.

2) It is unclear from the site plan how the storage contains/trailer chasis will be accessed. Provide
additional plan showing access route.

Storm Sewer

1) The site plan and business narrative specify that erosion control logs will be placed along the
entire length of the creek (Ramsey County Ditch 2). This type of erosion control practice is not
intended for permanent use. A more permanent erosion control barrier should be used in this
location (i.e. additional jersey barrier or vegetative strip).

2) Additional perimeter control around all stockpiles will be required.

3) Vehicle tracking from the existing site is evident and should be addressed.

Watermain
N/A

Sanitary Sewer
N/A
