12
2016 and have improved response times for critical calls, resulting in a higher
survivability rate and less property loss. New Brighton staff will attend the recognition
event for the award next month.

Public Safety welcomed its newest employee, part-time Public Safety Officer (PSO)
Claudia Valdez to the organization this week, although she is no stranger to the
department, having been a member of the Law Enforcement Explorer program and Police
Reserve Auxiliary. Claudia also serves as a member of the City’s Inclusive Community
Task Force.

Retired Firefighter, Tom Roback, delivered three checks to our agency from the New
Brighton Lions Club totaling $5,000! The funds are designated to support Santa Cop
($2,500), the Police Explorer Program ($1,000) and $1,500 for Community Engagement
Events. Please thank Tom and other members of the Lions club for their generosity to
our organization.
