3 <br /> <br />On Friday, November 9 shortly after 5:30 pm, Public Safety responded to a house fire in <br />the 500 block of 11th Avenue NW. The resident reported that a fire on the stove top had <br />extended to the kitchen cupboards. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the <br />flames. Nobody was injured. <br /> <br /> <br />On November 11, New Brighton squads assisted St. Anthony PD with an armed robbery <br />of their Cub Foods pharmacy. The suspect had fled the scene after jumping over the <br />counter with a handgun and forcing the staff to give him all the opioid pharmaceuticals. <br />The party was later identified and was known to local law enforcement. <br /> <br />On November 12 around 6 am, Public Safety responded to a fire alarm covering water <br />flow at the Lakes Run Apartments. A fire suppression system pipe sprinkler had <br />apparently frozen inside an unheated closet in the second floor workout room of the <br />building and eventually broke, causing water to pour out from the ceiling and into the <br />floors below. Firefighters assisted with initial clean-up efforts to limit water damage to <br />the building. <br /> <br />On November 13, New Brighton squads assisted Mounds View PD with a death <br />investigation. The Mounds View squads were tied up on a domestic so the New Brighton <br />squads responded to assist and assess the situation until a Mounds View squad could <br />arrive. <br /> <br />On November 13 around 9:45 pm, New Brighton Officer Kostohryz responded to the <br />area of Silver Lake Road and County Road H-2 on a report of two people standing in the <br />street who were nearly struck by a passerby.
