She <br />thanked the Commissioners for asking tough questions and working through this item. She <br />believed tabling action on this item was the right thing to do because there was a little more <br />work that had to be done by the applicant. <br /> <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Devin Massopust <br />Acting City Manager Massopust reported the Bartz Brothers has asked the City to assist with <br />tearing down their snow sculpture on February 5th. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported PREC would be meeting next on Wednesday, February 5th at <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported he attended the Cable Commission meeting for <br />Councilmember Dunsworth last week. He explained this group was working through disputes <br />with Comcast. He stated the Public Safety Department has requested residents consider <br />adopting a fire hydrant and keep it free and clear of snow this winter. He indicated the Public <br />Safety Commission would be meeting next on Monday, February 10th at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth thanked the Mayor and Councilmember Jacobsen for attending <br />meetings for her. <br /> <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen thanked all of the residents who spoke to the Council this evening for <br />sharing their challenges and for being courageous. He stated these were really tough stories to <br />hear. He explained housing was a big concern for him and he believed all levels of <br />government needed to do better in order to find solutions. He noted the EDC would meet next <br />on Wednesday, February 5th at 7:30 a.m. He reported the City needed election judges and was <br />also taking applications for volunteers interested in serving on the City’s Commissions. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson stated she appreciated all who spoke to the Council this evening. She <br />understood this was a courageous thing to do. She reported the Historical Society would be <br />giving a presentation on ice harvesting and ice castles on Sunday, February 9th at the New <br />Brighton Community Center. She noted this event was free and open to the public. She <br />indicated she attended the Planning Commission meeting on January 21st. She explained she <br />also attended the Public Safety Commission meeting on January 13th. She noted the ice castles <br />were still open for viewing. She encouraged the public to get tickets and visit weather <br />permitting. She stated the Exchange and Adagio’s was offering shuttle services on the <br />weekends. She commented she attended the Public Safety Department Awards Ceremony on <br />Monday, January 27th. She discussed the awards that were given out and thanks Director <br />Paetznick for putting on this special event. She explained voting was open at the Community <br />Center for the Presidential Nomination Primary.
