January 28, 2020 Page 4 of 7 <br />she had to pay $800 to get her car back. She explained her unit did not have a stove and she <br />had to buy her own stove. She also has a problem with roaches and she has been charged for <br />the fumigation expenses. She indicated she was a mother with no one else to help her and her <br />two children. Her children were scared because they don’t want to leave the school. She <br />noted she has lived in this apartment building for the past six years. <br />A resident living on 2050 14th Street in Apartment #11, explained he was sick and he needed <br />time to find a new apartment. <br />Darnesha Kendall, 1476 20th Avenue in Apartment #202, stated she has lived in her apartment <br />since 2016. She noted her daughter has been attending Pike Lake Elementary for the past two <br />years. She explained she received an eviction notice and was taken to court. She discussed the <br />poor communication she has had with QT Properties after the settlement was reached. She <br />requested the City assist the tenants in this building and understand that they need more time to <br />move and find a new place to live. She indicated she did not have anybody to help her and <br />noted she has been on her own since she was 18 years old. <br />Councilmember Burg asked what type of services were provided by Home Line.
