May 26, 2020 Page 6 of 6 <br /> <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth reported she attended a virtual Cable Commission meeting last <br />week. She explained CTV was looking for a new location for their studio. She commended <br />CTV for their great efforts to provide Spanish interpreters for the governors statements. She <br />explained the New Brighton Farmer’s Market begins on Wednesday, June 3rd. She explained <br />volunteers were still needed to assist with the Farmer’s Market. <br /> <br />Nasreen Fynewever <br />Councilmember Fynewever congratulated all of the graduating seniors. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen wished everyone a happy belated Memorial Day to all veterans in <br />the community. He stated he appreciated the sacrifice of those who were willing to serve and <br />die for this country. He explained the Planning Commission met on Tuesday, May 19th. He <br />stated he was proud of the housing projects that were taking place in the community both at <br />Midtown Village and the Benedictine Care Facility. He thanked staff for continuing to reach <br />out to the vulnerable and elderly in the community during the COVID-19 crisis. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson discussed a virtual meeting she attended with Representative Betty McCullum <br />where COVID-19 issues were addressed. She explained she advocated for additional <br />assistance for long-term health care facilities. She commented on the HEROS Act and how <br />this legislation would impact the City of New Brighton. She was pleased that the federal <br />government was recognizing the impact COVID-19 was having on local governments.
