15 <br />On Wednesday morning, August 21, Public Safety received a tour of the remodeled <br />building from Global Academy staff before they open for classes on August 28. In <br />addition to significant construction that has taken place since United Theological <br />Seminary vacated the property, the portions of the campus that did not have sprinklers <br />now have a modern fire suppression system. <br /> <br />On August 27, Sergeant Singer hosted a representative from the State of Minnesota for <br />Juvenile Compliance Inspection through the Office of Justice Programs that assesses <br />holding cells and documentation of juveniles in the facility. No issues were reported. <br /> <br /> <br />XI. RECOGNITION, NEWS AND INFORMATION <br /> <br />This section will include “good news” information about our public safety personnel. <br />This will include formal and informal recognition of the department and/or its personnel <br />on or off duty. <br /> <br />In his role as a negotiator for the Ramsey County Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) <br />Team, Sergeant Singer is now an Assistant Team Lead for the negotiators group. In <br />addition, Officer Amberg recently completed his initial weeklong training to become an <br />operator on the team. He must also participate in the annual SWAT week training at <br />Camp Ripley next month to officially become a full-fledged SWAT operator. As a <br />reminder, Ramsey County SWAT is a joint powers agreement of all of the suburban law <br />enforcement agencies and includes representation from each department. <br /> <br />The annual Denny Ross Memorial Softball game was held on Wednesday, August 7. The <br />Police and Fire Divisions faced off for this annual event. This year the Fire Division <br />came out on top by a score of 8-7. <br /> <br />
