2 <br />1. INCIDENT RESPONSE INFORMATION <br /> <br />Around 3:20 am on August 2, officers responded to a residence on Poppyseed Drive for a <br />56-year old male who was unresponsive. Upon their arrival, the victim had a faint pulse <br />and shallow breathing but soon stopped breathing and had no pulse. They initiated CPR <br />and assisted Allina paramedics with further lifesaving efforts. The victim was <br />transported to the U of M hospital. <br /> <br />A fiber optic installation contractor struck an Xcel Energy natural gas line near City Well <br />#10 around 10:30 am on August 2. For over an hour, firefighters controlled access to the <br />site and conducted atmospheric monitoring while a crew from Xcel dug at a remote <br />location further down 5th Street NW near the Garden Grove Apartments to isolate the <br />leak. <br /> <br />New Brighton Police and Ramsey County Sheriff’s deputies assisted Troopers with an <br />injury crash on I-35W @ County Road E-2 around 7:30 pm on August 3. One driver was <br />arrested for DWI. <br /> <br />An anonymous caller reported that a 21-year old male with an active arrest warrant was <br />currently at a residence on 6th St SW around 8:30 am on August 3. After confirming the <br />existence of the warrant out of Anoka County for theft, officers arrested the New <br />Brighton resident without incident and transported him to jail. <br /> <br />Officers responded to the Brighton Square townhomes around 6:30 am on August 4 on <br />report of a male passed out underneath a pine tree near the sidewalk. The 24-year old <br />New Brighton resident had a preliminary breath alcohol concentration measuring .18. A <br />passerby who recognized the subject stopped and offered to bring him to his brother’s <br />apartment nearby. <br /> <br />Allina requested the assistance of firefighters and police officers with a 68-year old <br />female victim at Health & Rehab of New Brighton around 5 pm on August 4. They <br />performed CPR and the patient was transported to United Hospital. <br /> <br />Around 8:30 pm on August 4, a witness reported a vehicle pulled over on Innsbruck <br />Drive @ 29th Avenue NW with a male and female on the ground scuffling outside the <br />car. When officers arrived, they found only a female who refused medical attention and <br />would not provide any identifying information about the other individual involved in the <br />altercation. The 29-year old Fridley resident stated that the argument was only verbal <br />and did not want any further police assistance. <br /> <br />Public Safety responded to a personal injury crash involving five vehicles on I-694 east <br />of Silver Lake Road about 9 am on August 6. Police officers and firefighters assisted <br />Minnesota State Troopers and Allina paramedics with patient care and cleaning up the <br />scene. <br /> <br />Staff at Benedictine Health Care Center reported a 92-year old female who was found <br />unresponsive and not breathing around 5:30 am on August 6. Officers performed CPR <br />and assisted Allina paramedics with lifesaving efforts but the victim was eventually <br />declared dead.
