<br /> <br /> <br />Dave Mattson, Allina Health, discussed the advanced life support care provided by Allina, <br />along with describing the equipment that was used. He reported patients were brought to the <br />hospital of their choice unless an airway cannot be maintained at which point the patient will <br />be diverted to the nearest hospital. He noted after a patient was brought to a hospital a patient <br />care report was filled out. <br /> <br />Discussion included: <br /> The vast computer network that was in place to allow for operations of the dispatch <br />center was discussed. <br /> It was described how EMS personnel handled health care directives in an emergency <br />situation. <br /> <br />VI. Reports and Updates <br /> <br />A. Allina Health – Dave Matteson <br /> <br />Dave Mattson provided the Commission with an update from Allina. He noted several <br />personnel changes that occurred at his organization. He explained one of his emergency <br />medical personnel, Ivan Mazurkiewicz, was being interviewed by WCCO and the Today <br />Show on Thursday. He discussed how Ivan uses magic when working with children in order <br />to keep them calm and reduce anxiety in emergency situations. <br /> <br />B. Public Safety Update – Deputy Director Hamdorf <br /> <br />Deputy Director Hamdorf stated the Commission would meet next on Monday, November <br />11th. He discussed the great work being done by the City’s school resource officers. He then <br />updated the Commission on a shooting that occurred in the City. He explained Silver Lake <br />Road was being resurfaced and encouraged residents to be patient while the work was being <br />completed. <br /> <br />C. City Council Update – Emily Dunsworth, Councilmember <br /> <br />Councilmember Dunsworth stated the City Council was surprised by the work being doing <br />on Silver Lake Road and noted this was a Ramsey County project. She reported the Water <br />Treatment Plant was dedicated on Tuesday, October 1st. She explained the Bulletin was no <br />longer in business which meant the Pioneer Press was now the City’s official newspaper. <br />She indicated the Council recently held a discussion regarding a potential renter/tenant <br />ordinance. She commented on the upcoming election and encouraged residents to get <br />educated regarding the Mounds View School District levy. She noted the City passed a <br />Tobacco 21 Ordinance. <br /> <br />VII. Business Items <br /> <br /> None. <br /> <br />
