Public Safety Commission <br />November 24, 2014 <br />Attending: Commissioner Allen, Commissioner Boyd, Commissioner Donohue, <br />Commissioner Eichers, Commissioner Hollimon, Commissioner Kerns, <br />Commissioner Lamp, Commissioner Schumann, Director Jacobson, <br />Council Member Burg, and Mr. Dave Matteson (Allina Health) <br />Absent: Commissioner Kocon <br />Call to Order/Roll Call <br />Commissioner Allen called the November meeting to order at 6:30 pm and roll call was taken. <br />September Meeting Minutes <br />The September meeting minutes were reviewed. Commissioner Lamp made a motion to approve <br />the September meeting minutes; Commissioner Kerns seconded. Motion carried. <br />Public Hearing/Presentation <br />None scheduled. <br />Updates <br />A. Citizen Corps Council <br />No report. <br />Department Reports 1W <br />A. Human Rights <br />No report. <br />B. Allina Health <br />Mr. Dave Matteson, Allina Health, spoke briefly regarding Ebola and are we ready for any <br />disease, not just Ebola? Mr. Matteson stated their equipment is constantly changing per the <br />Center for Disease Control (CDC) and this will better us for future responses. Unity is one of <br />three hospitals that would take Ebola patients; the other two are the U of M hospital and <br />Rochester Mayo. Unity is the only hospital currently ready to accept Ebola patients now. <br />Mr. Matteson reported Dr. Satterlee will be resigning as Allina's Medical Director at the end of <br />2014; he will be an ER physician in the metro area. Allina will probably do a nationwide search <br />for a replacement. <br />Mr. Matteson reported Allina has a possible new base at County Road E & Victoria in <br />Shoreview; they are proceeding to secure this location. <br />
