of Lexington Avenue in the City of Arden Hills to assist the Lake Johanna Fire <br />Department with a structure fire. Crews assisted with extinguishing the fire for several <br />hours. <br />Crews on scene of the Lexington Ave fire <br />On March 19th at about 9:07 pm Officers responded to the area of the New Brighton Bar <br />and Grill Parking lot, 2397 Palmer Drive, on a report of a male who had overdosed on <br />heroin. Officers found a 24 year old male from New Brighton who was very lethargic <br />and was in possession of two hypodermic needles. The male was transported to Unity <br />Hospital. This is the same male who had gone into full cardiac arrest on February 26t <br />also due to a heroin overdose. CN 15003839. <br />On March 27th at about 2:51 am New Brighton Officer's assisted the St. Anthony Police <br />Department on a report of an Aggravated Assault that had occurred and that the suspect <br />was carrying a handgun in his waistband. The Officers including Officer Craig and <br />Officer Amberg responded to the area of the 2500 block of Lowery Ave N.E. where the <br />suspect barricaded himself in a mobile home. The suspect eventually surrendered. <br />Officer Craig and Officer Amberg located the handgun believed to have been used in the <br />Assault in the mobile home park laundry room. CN 15004252. <br />II. USE OF FORCE BY POLICE OFFICERS <br />It is the policy of the New Brighton Department of Public Safety that officers exert no <br />more force than is reasonably necessary in the discharge of their licensed duty, and that <br />the use of deadly force is consistent with the law, training and our general orders. <br />This section contains summary data of the use of force used by our police officers. A <br />Police Use of Force Report is completed by officers each time force or restraint is used in <br />the performance of their duties. This does not include the use of handcuffs during an <br />arrest or detention situation. Each Police Use of Force Report is reviewed by patrol <br />
