I. INCIDENT RESPONSE INFORMATION <br />After dropping off students in the morning at Highview Middle School on Tuesday, <br />October 1 st, a bus driver was performing a check of the bus to assure that it was <br />unoccupied and found a raccoon near the heater in the back of the bus. No students had <br />reported the animal to the bus driver. <br />New Brighton officers assisted the Anoka Drug Task Force with executing a search <br />warrant of a residence on Tuesday afternoon, October 1 st. Two suspects were arrested <br />and one was later charged with first degree possession and drug sales. The other had <br />several outstanding arrest warrants for aggravated robbery and fraud. <br />On Wednesday, October 2 at 11:00 pm, Public Safety responded to the intersection of <br />County Road E and Old Highway 8 NW on a power outage with wires down in the <br />intersection. Public Safety provided traffic control at the intersection during the following <br />morning rush hour due to low hanging wires. The intersection was not opened back up <br />entirely until the following afternoon. <br />On Tuesday, October 8 at 1:00 pm, police and fire responded to the 500 block of 11th <br />Avenue NW on a fire inside of a detached garage. The fire division arrived and located <br />the fire. Entry was forced into the garage through a side service door and the fire was <br />quickly knocked down. The fire started in the corner of the garage and was starting to <br />work its way up the side of the interior of the structure. The garage was overhauled and <br />the items that first ignited were removed from the garage. The fire is still being <br />investigated. <br />Around 10:30 pm on Tuesday, October 8, New Brighton officers assisted Mounds View <br />Police with arresting a suspect wanted for felony threats of violence and possible criminal <br />sexual conduct. After clearing that scene, New Brighton officers also handled a domestic <br />disturbance at Scotland Court Apartments in Mounds View as their officers remained <br />busy on the previous incident. <br />2 <br />
