The estimate for the four parks, excluding <br />artwork, was $3,852,230; adding artwork was estimated at $635,000. <br />The funding sources that may be utilized by the City for the Northwest Quadrant park concept <br />plan are park dedication funds, TIF Bond Proceeds, corporate sponsorships, applicable grant <br />requests, as well as private fundraising activities (such as allowing citizens to make gifts <br />dedicated to memorials or new art projects). <br />More Recent Legislative History: <br />• In 2010 Council authorized the construction of the South Park Trail. South Park cost <br />$102,954.82 (does not include $18,983 for project admin costs/engineering) a $51,474 <br />grant was received from DNR and $1,800 form Ramsey County. <br />• January 22, 2013 — Council Directed the Parks, Recreation and Environmental <br />Commission to study and recommend park features and amenities for the New Brighton <br />Exchange Parks. <br />• June 5, 2013 — PREC finalized a recommendation to Council for park amenities. This <br />included: <br />❑North Park has a softball diamond and official lacrosse field with both fields <br />being lighted. The softball field would be 300 feet and the lacrosse field would be <br />360 x 225 feet. <br />❑Hansen re -use, would be based upon usage, and improvements would be made <br />to Driftwood to accommodate a regulation size soccer field. <br />This recommendation was on the Council work session calendar for February 25, 2014 <br />and was cancelled. <br />• Stantec (formerly known as Bonestoo) was hired to provide cost estimates on the North <br />Park based on the amenities recommended by PREC. Estimated cost $2,978,948 or <br />$1,790,028 (minus optional add alternates). <br />• January 7, 2015 — PREC update on New Brighton Exchange Parks (due to new <br />commission members) <br />• January 27, 2015 — Council work session. <br />
