Roll Call <br />Members present: Commissioners Brunell, Fields, Frischman, Justin, Kunesh- <br />Podein, McEathron, Parker, Stenglein and Council Liaison Burg <br />Members absent: Commissioner Eischen <br />Also present: Sandy Breuer, Director of Parks and Recreation, Chris Wolla, <br />Parks Superintendent, Jason Hick, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director, Jim <br />Kvaal, Sunny Square resident. <br />III. Minutes of March 4, 2015 <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER KUNESH-PODEIN, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER FIELDS, TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF MARCH 4, 2015 AS <br />SUBMITTED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />None <br />V. New Business <br />a. Welcome New PREC Members <br />New Commissioners, Larry Justin, Abe McEathron and Brandon Stenglein <br />told a little about themselves. <br />b. PREC Chair Election — recommendation for Council <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER FIELDS TO NOMINATE COMMISSIONER <br />KUNESH-PODEIN, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER PARKER. MOTION <br />CARRIED. <br />VI. Old Business <br />a. Sunny Square Ice Rink / Volunteers — Jason Hicks / Jim Kvaal <br />Jason Hicks gave a presentation overview of the rink season at the different <br />parks. Over 8,000 used the rinks during the season at all rinks. <br />Jim Kvaal stated overall it was a very successful season. Mr. Kvaal received <br />lots of good feedback. For next year he recommends moving hours more like <br />Freedom and Hansen. He would put a volunteer calendar in place for next <br />year. <br />Mr. Kvaal stated there were no behavior issues. <br />Mr. Hicks stated in 2013 we had some behavior issues at the park. We feel <br />that by drawing people in to use the park more, we may have halted those <br />issues. <br />May 6, 2015 Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission Page 1 <br />
