C. Commission Reports on Parks <br />Driftwood: Parker. Nothing to report <br />Freedom: Brunell. Park looked real good, the field looked beautiful, <br />infield just dragged. During the day there are no parking places. Director <br />Breuer stated that we have an agreement with the school district that <br />states they have use of the parking lot during day time hours. <br />Hansen: Fields. Tennis nets in need of repair. Path light is out on the <br />south and west of the creek. Path on south end of prairie grass, asphalt <br />heaved up. Lots of disc golfers. <br />Hidden Oaks: Frischman. Lots of activity up there. LaCrosse play at <br />Hidden Oaks. Field is looking kind of rough. <br />Innsbruck: Kunesh-Podein. It is a beautiful park. <br />Meadow Wood: Eischen. No report. <br />Silver Oaks/Totem Pole: Justin. Totem Pole is heavily active, tennis <br />courts are being used more than in the past. Silver Oaks not as heavily <br />used. Overall they look good. Chris Wolla reported that Silver Oaks <br />tennis court was redone in 2012. It was repainted. This year there are <br />issues with cracks and the asphalt popping up. City Engineer and outside <br />vendor looked at it. Need to do some significant repair to the tennis court. <br />Sunny Square/Vermont: McEathron. Sunny Square: Lots of activity at <br />that park. The ball field is heavily used. The playground looks good. The <br />security domes over the security cameras are broken. <br />Vermont: Lots of kids on the playground. Some play on the soccer field. <br />Light pole has cables hanging. Mr. Wolla stated this will be resolved. <br />Veterans: Stenglein <br />Rain garden has washout area in one of the curb cuts. Mr. Wolla stated <br />this belongs to St. John's. We will let them know about it. Commissioner <br />Stenglein also mentioned he saw vehicle ruts in right field. <br />Chair Frischman mentioned that she attended a conference with some <br />Parks and Recreation staff about marketing techniques and learned <br />about the Did You Know program. Gathering facts and getting the <br />information out to the public. <br />D. Department Happenings / upcoming events <br />Director Breuer highlighted some of the Department Happenings. <br />Through the Gift a Tree program we received 3 trees.
