Department Happenings / upcoming events <br />Director Breuer gave highlights of the Department Happenings. <br />• July is Parks and Recreation month. New Brighton has lots of activities <br />planned throughout the month. <br />• Forestry staff busy trimming trees and renewing woodchips around the <br />City. Spraying for weeds along Silver Lake Road. <br />• 176 in our soccer league <br />• 29 in outdoor basketball <br />• Just under 150 in Jr. Golf league <br />• 127 NB participants and 59 St. Anthony participants in Soccer Camps. <br />• Ed -Ventures Day Care at maximum with 60 enrolled <br />• Youth Tennis has 33 children <br />• Karate and Little Tigers Martial Arts has 33 children <br />• Get Golf Ready has 18 students <br />• 3 Adults signed up for semi -private guitar lessons <br />• Sixty-three adult softball teams play weekly in New Brighton with over <br />750 adults <br />• EAB injections began the week of June 22, treating large trees this year <br />• Driftwood and Hidden Oaks buildings are down — no negative feed back <br />Community Center closed on July 4. Delayed opening on Monday, July <br />6. Water will be shut off until 1 pm. <br />Allocate enough time to get to the Community Center because of the <br />road construction. <br />IX.
