With all the issues, it is tough for the Council to get into
all the details. If it wasn’t for this Commission he does not know how the
Council could exist. Thank you and keep up the good work.

B. Chair Updates
None

C. Commission Reports on Parks
Driftwood: Parker. Looks good. Grass showing wear in front of soccer goals.
One volleyball net does not look good.
Freedom: Brunell. The park is getting heavy use especially on ball game nights.
It is nice to see so many people out. Boards of hockey rink are gone. Parks
Superintendent Chris Wolla said they are taking out asphalt there and lowering it
to help prevent flooding of ball field, then get boards back up before hockey
season. Commissioner Brunell mentioned that Pike Lake trail was overgrown
but noticed now it is all trimmed and looks good.
Hansen: Fields. Trail light out on north side of creek by prairie grass area. On
the other side of the creek there is a big branch down. Parking lot lights were out
but are working again. There has been lots of use on the tennis courts. Using
right up until dark. Staff may want to consider lights there.
Hidden Oaks: Frischman. No report.
Innsbruck: Kunesh-Podein. Saw
some volunteers putting woodchips down. Parks Superintendent Chris Wolla
stated these were volunteers from St. John’s that did woodchips and staining of
the gazebo at Meadow Wood and other parks. They did lots of work for us.
Commissioner Eischen asked that Parks Superintendent Chris Wolla give
thanks to them from this Commission.
Silver Oaks/Totem Pole: Justin. New playground equipment
looked ready to be installed.
Sunny Square/Vermont: McEathron. Sunny Square–some of the hockey boards
looked like they were kicked in. Vermont-one of the picnic tables was broken.
Veterans: Stenglein. Park looks good; lots of construction in the area. Dirt
mound there, hoping kids are not playing there. Parks Superintendent Chris
Wolla stated it is a Public Works project and they must not need a barrier
around, they would have done that if it was required.
