Permit Amendment and <br /> Variances for Mounds <br /> View Public Schools <br /> Motion by Councilmember Burg,seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to adopt a Resolution proposed Improvements to <br /> authorizing a Special Use Permit and Variances for Irondale High School located at 2425 Long Lake Inondale High School <br /> Road with conditions. located at 2425 Long Lake <br /> Road. <br /> City Manager Lotter indicated Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola would be <br /> presenting this item to the Council. <br /> Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola stated Mounds View Public Schools is <br /> seeking to make improvements to Irondale High School by adding a new auditorium,six new classrooms, <br /> and a revised main-office/secure entrance.Interior renovations include improvements to hallways and <br /> intersections,conversion of the existing pool into a new fitness room,a renovated lobby area,and creation of a <br /> new multi-purpose room out of the existing auditorium. The exterior of the building will be improved with <br /> brick and precast panels matching the existing building along with new metal panels and accent lighting,and <br /> additional parking will be added in a new lot to the NE of the school. The special use permit would authorize <br /> the package of proposed improvements,and the variances would address proposed nonconformities relating <br /> to parking. Staff summarized the comments he received from the public.
