He thanked staff for drafting a highly professional document that thoroughly <br /> summarized the Council's legislative priorities. <br /> Councilmember Allen applauded staff for their efforts on the legislative summary document. <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> Public hearing <br /> Public Hearing 1. Consider <br /> 1. Consider Resolution to Vacate portions of 19th Avenue NW and 20th Avenue Resolution to Vacate <br /> NW located wholly within the boundaries of the Bel Air Elementary School portions of Avenue <br /> Avenue NWW and 20th <br /> property at 1800 5th Street NW. Avenue NW located <br /> wholly within the <br /> City Attorney Sonsalla stated because the first publication for this public hearing occurred on 1-30-19,staff boundaries of the Bel <br /> Air Elementary School <br /> must request the public hearing be tabled to the 2-26-19 meeting to ensure the City was technically meeting property at 1800 5th <br /> the required two-week publication notice. Street NW. <br /> Motion by Mayor Johnson, seconded by Councilmember Burg to postpone the Public <br /> Hearing to February 26,2019. <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> Council Business <br /> Council Business <br /> None. <br /> Commission Liaison <br /> Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates Reports, <br /> Announcements and <br /> Dean Lotter Updates <br /> City Manager Lotter reported staff was working to address an even-year election complaint. <br /> He noted both sides have agreed to submit written complaints by Friday. He commented a <br /> final response document would then be submitted on Friday, February 22nd. He stated it would <br /> be nice-to-have-this-process-complete. He explained neighborhoodmeetings would-be held-on <br /> Thursday, February 21st at Totem Park and at Sunnyside Park on Thursday, March 21st. Both <br /> meetings would be held at 6:00 p.m. He reported the Parks Comprehensive Plan process <br /> would be discussed at these meetings and he encouraged the public to participate in these <br /> meetings. He commented further on how a surplus situation was being addressed by the State <br /> legislature. <br /> Graeme Allen <br /> Councilmember Allen thanked the three Commission Chairs who provided the Council with a <br /> presentation this evening. He thanked Joe Kelly, the Public Safety Department of Homeland <br /> Security Director for the State of Minnesota, for providing the Council with a presentation on <br /> emergency preparedness at their worksession meeting on February 5th. He thanked the Public <br /> Works Department for keeping the City free and clear of snow. He thanked his neighbor Paul <br /> Fry for plowing his driveway while he is away at work. He encouraged residents to keep their <br /> fire hydrants clear this winter. He reported the EDC would meet next on Wednesday, March <br /> 6th at 7:30 a.m. <br /> Emily Dunsworth <br /> Councilmember Dunsworth thanked Director Kelly for coming in and speaking to the City <br /> Council regarding emergency preparedness.
