She reported Rise was working to be a part of the community and not separate from the <br /> community. She stated she appreciated the recreational and social opportunities that were available for the <br /> individuals that attended the Rise Adult Day program at the New Brighton Community Center. She <br /> provided further comment on the musical and art therapy attendees receive from Rise. She explained the Rise <br /> program at the New Brighton Community Center was so successful Rise was requesting to expand their <br /> space. <br /> Mayor Johnson stated she recently visited with the adults attending the Rise program and explained this was <br /> an incredibly enthusiastic bunch. She indicated she was pleased the City had space for Rise within the <br /> Community Center. <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen commented he fully supported the expansion of Rise at the Community Center <br /> and stated he appreciated how this program was building community in New Brighton. <br /> Councilmember Allen explained he was so proud of the progress that has made to provide these individuals <br /> with a day program in the community. He thanked Rise for treating these individuals like people. <br /> Parks and Recreation Director Fink reported the staff within the Community Center was lucky to have these <br /> individuals onsite daily. <br /> 4.Proclamation for <br /> 4.
