He discussed the age ofthe roof, <br /> - skylight and HVAC unit and recommended the Council accept the bids and award a contract for City Project <br /> 18-12. <br /> Councilmember Burg asked if the City would be receiving any efficiencies with the new roof and <br /> HVAC unit. Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting commented the new controls would <br /> assist staff by having higher and better equipment at City Hall. <br /> Councilmember Allen questioned ifthe new roofwould be able to accommodate solar panels. Community <br /> Assets and Development Director Schlichting indicated City Hall could support a 20 KW system. However, <br /> based on the shading City Hall receives from some cottonwood trees,solar panels were not being <br /> recommended at City Hall at this time. <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen questioned if City Hall would have any closures in order to complete the roof and <br /> HVAC replacements. Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting explained the project <br /> would be completed in two phases in order to not impact services at City Hall. He reported the boilers would <br /> be replaced this spring and noted the work would continue throughout the summer through the fall of 2019. <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen stated he was pleased this project was being completed and the fact that City Hall <br /> would have a single,unified roof. <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> Commission Liaison Reports,Announcements and Updates Commission Liaison <br /> Reportst <br /> Announcements and <br /> Dean Lotter updates <br /> City Manager Lotter commented on the progress that was being made by the legislature <br /> regarding the invasive species bill and LGA. <br /> Mary Burg <br /> Councilmember Burg reported the Planning Commission did not meet in March. She <br /> explained this group would meet next on for a Special Meeting on Monday, April 1st. She <br /> thanked all of the residents who attended the park neighborhood meeting on Thursday, March <br /> 21st at Sunny Square Park. She encouraged residents who would like to provide feedback on <br /> the Parks Strategic Plan to visit the City's website. She indicated the City held a blood drive <br /> last week and noted 35 pints of blood were donated. She invited the public to participate in the <br /> City's next blood drive which would be held on Wednesday, June 12th at_the_New Brighton <br /> Community Center. <br /> Paul Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen thanked all of the residents who came forward to speak this evening. <br /> He stated he appreciated hearing all of the different questions and points of view. He thanked <br /> all of the residents who have served and will serve the community on its Commissions. He <br /> stated he looked forward to serving as the liaison to the Public Safety Commission in 2019. He <br /> thanked City Manager Lotter and his staff for their great financial planning efforts on behalf of <br /> the community. <br /> Emily Dunsworth <br /> Councilmember Dunsworth thanked Becca and Scott for attending the Council worksession <br /> meeting this evening and for providing the Council with further information on code <br /> enforcement. She thanked the Public Safety Commission for their great efforts and stated it <br /> was an absolute pleasure serving with this group for the past year. <br />
