City Project 18-1, 2018 Street Rehabilitation Assessment Hearin Rehabilitation <br /> Hearing <br /> AssessmentHearing <br /> City Manager Lotter indicated Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting would be <br /> presenting this item to the Council. <br /> Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting stated Project 18-1 consisted of the rehabilitation <br /> of the following streets in the fall of 2018 and the summer of 2019: <br /> Pike Lake Drive - 14th Street NW to Thomdale Avenue <br /> Highview Drive - Pike Lake Drive to 13th Street NW <br /> Thomdale Avenue - Pike Lake Drive to Robin Lane <br /> 12th Street NW - Robin Lane to Pike Lake Drive <br /> 13th Street NW - Highview Drive to Pike Lake Drive <br /> Robin Lane - Highview Drive to Palmer Drive <br /> Robin Court - Robin Lane to cul-de-sac <br /> Service Drive - Pike Lake Drive to Silver Lake Road <br /> Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting reported rehabilitation included the removal and <br /> replacement of the bituminous surfacing,the removal and replacement of designated sections of concrete curb <br /> and gutter,and utility improvements. The total costs for Project 18-1 was just over$3.5 million.Staff <br /> commented further on the improvements and associated assessments. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Dunsworth to open <br /> the Public Hearing. <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> The Public Hearing was opened at 7:03 p.m. <br /> Laura Lynn, 1113 Thorndale Avenue, expressed concern with the high level of property taxes <br /> she would be paying, along with the proposed assessment. She requested the City consider <br /> allowing residents to break up the assessment into two payments versus a single payment or <br /> payments over 10 years with interest. <br /> Mayor Johnson asked for additional comments, there were none. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to close the <br /> Public Hearing. <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> The Public Hearing was closed at 7:06 p.m. <br /> IMotion by Councilmember Jacobsen,seconded by Councilmember Burg to adopt a Resolution <br /> approving 2019 Special Assessments for Project 18-1,2018 Street Rehabilitation. <br /> Mayor Johnson asked if the City would allow for a payment schedule as proposed by Ms.Lynn. Community <br /> Assets and Development Director Schlichting explained residents could pay off their assessment in two <br />
